As we reflect on another dynamic year in the automotive industry, I’m energized by the resilience and adaptability demonstrated by Arkansas dealers. Our market continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace, and your commitment to meeting customer needs positions us strongly for the opportunities ahead.
The automotive landscape this year has been challenging, with high interest rates and uncertainty surrounding pricing impacts from tariffs. While vehicle sales have remained strong, experts predict a slowdown from last year’s total with the expiration of EV tax credits and a decline in alternative powertrain sales. It’s hard to predict how vehicle sales will be impacted moving into 2026, but we know that dealers remain ready to meet the needs of Arkansans.
Consumers are demanding a better buying experience as technology continues to reshape how we connect with buyers. Digital retailing tools, enhanced online experiences and data-driven insights are no longer optional — they’re essential. Yet the fundamental value proposition remains unchanged: Arkansas dealers provide trusted expertise, local service and relationships that no online-only competitor can replicate. This combination of innovation and personal touch is our competitive advantage.
Looking ahead, dealers will see a dramatic shift in how customers register vehicles in Arkansas as the state transitions to electronic vehicle registrations. The goal is to speed up the process and eliminate some of the paperwork that has plagued the registration process. AADA is working closely with the state in implementing this process. Our association remains committed to supporting your success through advocacy, education and resources that address today’s challenges while preparing for tomorrow’s opportunities.
